Janis Aileen Rodden

Janis Aileen Rodden (née Picard) passed away peacefully at home on July 11, 2026.

Janis is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, John; her cherished children, Judy, John and Gordon; and her grandchildren, Janessa, Steven and Davis. Family meant everything to her and she devoted her life to being the best wife, mother and grandmother.

Janis was born May 17, 1936 in Cranston, Rhode Island and always cherished her New England roots. She moved to the Crowsnest Pass as a girl and finished her schooling there after which she joined the Air Force with the intention of seeing the world. She raised her family in Calgary where she took great care in keeping a nice home and making all feel welcome. She loved to travel to Kelowna with her family and Hawaii and later her holiday home at the Old Man Dam. Being tanned gave her great pleasure!

Janis was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Pearl Picard; and her first grandson, Cody.
